Akhilesh Kumar Singh becomes National Secretary of the All India Panchayat Parishad
Reported from Nawada: Akhilesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Jahana village in the Akbarpur block of the district, has been appointed National Secretary of the All India Panchayat Parishad and has travelled to Delhi to take charge of the post. The report notes that he takes up the role at a young age, and that local residents and social workers congratulated him, calling national-level recognition a matter of pride for the district.

Honoured at IIT Delhi for contribution to rural social service
Reported from Nawada: Akhilesh Kumar Singh, of Jahana village in Nawada district, Bihar, was honoured at IIT Delhi for his contribution to rural social development and to strengthening the Panchayati Raj system. He was presented with an ang vastra (shawl) and a memento by the Director of IIT Mumbai. Speaking on rural development at the institution, he described the occasion as a matter of pride for his village, for Nawada and for the country. According to the report, the recognition was conferred for his contribution to research and policy formulation in the Panchayati Raj system.
